(IFI), a premier commercial flooring contractor headquartered in Orlando, proudly accepted four Eagle Awards at the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Excellence in Construction Awards ceremony held Saturday, October 18th. The Eagle Award is ABC’s highest recognition, honoring projects that exemplify outstanding performance, innovation, craftsmanship, and safety in the construction industry.
This year, IFI earned Eagle Awards for four landmark projects across Central Florida, showcasing its expertise in large-scale, fast-track, and highly technical flooring installations:

Universal Epic Universe – P905: The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic
As part of the much-anticipated Epic Universe expansion, the Ministry of Magic promises to be one of Universal’s most immersive themed entertainment spaces to date. IFI’s scope included extensive themed flooring installations engineered to meet exact creative specifications while performing under extreme daily foot traffic. The project demanded precise coordination, technical execution, and innovation to support the level of detail expected in Universal Creative projects.
Universal Epic Universe – P902: Dark Universe
From gothic horror inspiration to groundbreaking attraction environments, Dark Universe combines story-driven design with complex architectural finishes. IFI’s team delivered
high-performance flooring solutions that seamlessly integrated with the park’s atmospheric theming. With tight schedules and evolving design requirements, IFI’s ability to adapt while maintaining premium quality played a key role in the success of this ambitious project.

Orange County Convention Center – North/South Concourse Flooring Replacement
International Flooring, Inc. was hired directly by the Orange County Convention Center and partnered with KMF Architects and TJNG for one of the most logistically complex flooring renovations ever undertaken at a major convention center. The project encompassed more than 2,000 linear feet across both concourses and included installation of:
- 27,000 SY of custom Royal Thai woven carpet
- 55,000 SF of new terrazzo
- 154 terrazzo-clad staircases
All work was performed while the convention center remained fully operational, hosting high-profile events with thousands of daily attendees. The scale, schedule, and visibility of this installation demanded meticulous planning, phased execution, and precision craftsmanship—hallmarks of IFI’s project delivery approach. The result is a modern, durable, and inspired flooring system that elevates the guest experience at one of the nation’s busiest convention venues.
Orange County Convention Center – Chapin Theater Renovation
The Chapin Theater renovation required a refined flooring solution to complement the architectural upgrades to this prestigious event venue. IFI replaced existing finishes with acoustically supportive and visually sophisticated flooring designed to meet performance needs for concerts, conferences, and live productions. The project showcased IFI’s ability to meet technical installation requirements while achieving elevated design outcomes.
